New Upload Campaign Brochure
According to Queen’s Park, the long awaited final report of the Provincial-Municipal Review is expected shortly. Minister Watson, at a recent public event pledged release of the recommendations by the end of October. That said, the report is long overdue, and Ontario has floated deadlines before, although they do appear to be speaking with more certainty now.
There is little question that a downturn in Ontario’s economy has limited the Provincial capacity to take back costs. Given the lengthy delay and difficult discussions in the Review negotiations, we have used the opportunity to redouble our efforts to offer the co-op upload as a way forward and possible solution to part of the current impasse.

City of Toronto Committee considers Upload Proposal
The Community Development and Recreation Committee of the City of Toronto recently talked about a report from their staff that included information about the campaign to upload municipally administered co-ops to the province and have the administration done by the Agency for Co-operative Housing.
Brian Eng from CHFT and Harvey Cooper from the CHF Canada (Ontario Region) made presentation to the committee. Councillors expressed interest in the proposal and asked a lot of questions. They decided that it should be looked into further.
